July Update
We all know how hot it was on Sunday July 17th. But the hottest thing about the CWI Garden Tea hosted by Kate at her lovely home was the lovely tables, the wonderful food and the stimulating conversation. We were scattered around the yard and on the porch seated at beautifully set tables in the shade with just a touch of a breeze to break the heat.
There were 18 beautiful women to enjoy the beautiful day. Thank you, Kate, for all you did and Debbie for all the food, time and dishes you shared too. I will send pictures of the day. The floral centerpieces, prepared by Cain's Bridal Wreath in Plymouth, and shared by Kate were outstanding, all flowers in teapots or cups with matching saucers. You can see some in the pictures.
The food was spectacular too. Finger sandwiches, deviled eggs and tea eggs, cucumber sandwiches, fruit, lavender cookies, apricot cream biscuits, peach cobbler. I may have even forgotten something.
Great Day. We can plan another some day.
Now on to the Future..........
August 18-21: Milwaukee Irishfest. (irishfest.com)
Celtic Women will be marching in the parade on Sunday afternoon with our banner and new flags of the seven Celtic Nations. So we can really make an impression this year. Always a delightful, entertaining and educational festival, the best Irish Fest in the nation according to the late Tommy Makem.
September 2-4 - Labor Day - Wisconsin Highland Games. (http://www.wisconsinscottish.org/)
CWI has been offered an information table free as long as we keep the table manned during the hours of the festival. So we need volunteers to do this. The hours are as follows:
Friday September 2 - from 5PM to 10PM
Saturday September 3 - from 9AM to 6PM
Friday September 4 - from 10AM to 5PM
I have been wanting to attend this festival for years. I need to know by August 10th. You can respond to the blog.
