We are going to be offering a lot of Celtic Activities for our
members from October 6th til the Christmas Tea on December 8th. So
fasten your seat belts and hang on.
First: October 6, 2012, Saturday, 2PM to 4PM.
Be there if you can for a super enjoyable concert. CAIM (
cluniemusic@hotmail.com)
will be performing at the Plymouth Arts Center. We, the Sheboygan
County Branch of CWI, SCHRC (the Sheboygan County Historical
Research Center) and the Plymouth Arts Center are co- sponsors of
the concert. SCHRC and CWI are paying for the entertainers and the
Arts Center is acting as host. SCHRC and the Arts Center will
sell tickets. I have put my number on the poster and will have
some tickets here too.
We, as Celtic Women, will also be offering tea and cakes for our
guests at the concert. So please plan on baking for this as well as
the Christmas Tea.
SCHRC is also doing the advertizing and have already sent a notice
out to all their contacts of the event and the day. We need to
spread the word too. Hopefully, this can be a very successful as
well as enchanting afternoon for all. If there is anybody who
would be able to help get posters out, I will have them by the
weekend.
Second: October 12-14, IBAM (Irish Book Art
Music) is again happening in Chicago at the Chicago Irish History
Center. The Chicago Branch of CWI again will offer a "Literary
Salon" with continuous short programs - historic lectures, poetry,
arts, Celtic Spirituality, authors, weaving Celtic Myths into art,
one act play and much much more. Check on
HTTP://ibamchicago.com
for more information.
VERY IMPORTANT. We need to know who is going. We should
communicate within the next couple of weeks to be sure we have
transportation and lodgings taken care of. Anybody else who even
THINKS they want to should look long and hard as the event is so
full of culture, art, music and history. Morgan Llewellyn will
be there this year and Mary Pat Kelly will be back.
Third: October 28, Sunday, at 4PM. We will
celebrate our fourth annual Samhain Dinner. I believe Dorothy Rose
has reserved UCC for us again. (Let me know Dorothy) Invite
friends past and present and bring your significant others with
you. We will be joyous and grateful for the harvest and enter
confidently into the dark season, the season to rest and revive. (I
am bringing Colcannon again.)
Fourth: The Book Discussion group will meet
on November 3rd from 1 to 3PM. Dorothy Rose is checking with her
congregation about meeting there for that also. So I will update
on the location but mark your calendar. Remember the book is
Legend of the Celtic Stone by Michael Phillips. I have a copy if
someone would like to borrow it.
Fifth: The Sixth Annual Celtic Christmas
Tea at the Plymouth History Museum, Saturday December 8 from 1 to
34PM. And guess what. JEFF WARD is coming to perform for us.
If you haven't heard him come over and I'll play some of his music
for you. Here too, we supply the tea and cakes. I will be
bringing Irish Brown Bread and butter.
So that is it. Are you ready for some FUN!!!
