January 28February 15, Saturday , at noon. We can meet at my house again. I have a large screen TV and lots of chairs so we can watch the movie A Quiet Man. If we each bring something fun for lunch to eat or drink, it would be SO nice. We need to have a meeting as this is the beginning of the year. Several people were sorry that they missed the Brigit Bead meeting, so I will have beads and the directions for anybody that wants to learn. Or we can just movie and meet. March 17th, a Monday, is St. Patrick's Day. We ask that any members who are able to meet at The Exchange Bank at about 9AM for a meeting and breakfast before we (those who can walk) climb or hitch a ride to the corner of Hwy C(Highland Avenue) and Eastern Avenue in the movie rental lot for the Annual Irishman's Walk to 52 Stafford. We will proudly carry our CWI Banner and if there are enough of us can also carry the flags of the Celtic Nations, (or just Ireland). At 52 Stafford we will toast with our free shot of Jamison and then sit down as a group for a fine lunch. Those who cannot walk will be our cheering party as we complete our walk. April is always reserved for the Celtic Women International Annual Meeting. This year it is going to be in Lincolnshire IL April 26- 28. We are rounding up super speakers and programs. It is close enough that perhaps some may be able to come down for even one day. It is such a marvelous opportunity to meet other dynamic Celts and become immersed in the culture. Anyone interested in being a part of a board or committee, let me know. As we are scattered, most of our "work" and meetings are done via email and conference calls. On May 17th, Joan Kramer will be leading our book discussion. We chose, An Irish Country Doctor, the first of a series by Patrick Taylor. If you read the first one you will be hooked, I guaranty. Think of All Creatures Great and Small with people doctors and fascinating characters that you would LOVE to meet. June 16th is Bloomsday. It as is St. Patrick's Day also on a Monday. Paul Hansen, my writer buddy, who came last year and enlightened us on James Joyce and Ulysses, and I are trying to plan something really special. I will let you know when and if we get it together. At the last book discussion we decided that an Irish Movie meeting would be good. That is why I am offering The Quiet Man. There are SO many good Irish movies out there. I have several and so do some of our other members. I was surprised at how many have not seen the Quiet Man. Let me know what you want to do too. We are open for suggestions. 6 months of fun for the Sheboygan County Celtic Women

This Saturday at 1PM some of us are gathering to make pasties.    I will paste the message that I sent to those I believe are coming in case any of you should be able to come and have not notified me.   It is OK.

The Meetings Scheduled for this year though June so that you can mark your calendars and hopefully join us.

February 15,  a Saturday again, was picked to meet, place to be announced.    Several people were sorry that they missed the Brigit Bead meeting so we picked this along with an idea for an occasional Movie Night.    I was thinking A Quiet Man with John Wayne as to my horror several people I talked to have not seen it.    It has the best screen kiss and the very best fight ever filmed in the very same movie.

So that is it.  Exciting as usual.  By the way, I have decided that I need an Irish Music Fix and hopefully some fresh eggs and have decided that I am going to 52 Stafford next Wednesday at 6:30PM for dinner and the Craic.  Just Sayin'.

It looks like there will only be about 5 or 6 of us at the Pastie making meeting.   I am a bit surprised because I had been getting emails last year begging for another session so I set this date up last November.

Oh well it is all good because we will be having fun while providing food for our families.    As there are not a ton of people.I will make the dough on Friday.   If everybody would bring a root vegetable, or a special kind of meat if you want to try it.      Potatoes, carrots, Rutabega, turnips, onion, cabbage - all are good.    I generally use venison and can contribute 3/4 lb of venisonburger.   We won't even have to grind it.
I know that beef and pork are good.   And strictly Veggie are good too.   So come with ideas.

We will be starting at about 1:00PM at my house this Saturday.   I am looking forward to the company so bring friends too if you wish.

Pasty time

The celebration of Christmas is over and we are well into the New Year.   I have returned from visiting my Oklahoma children and I THINK I am ready to face the real world again.

We have scheduled our first Sheboygan County CWI meeting for January 18, at my house.    This is a week from today.   The plan is to make pasties again.   I need to know who is coming, so I can get the recipe out to those who are coming and we can figure out who will bring what.   Let me know ASAP.    I have three numbers now.   My Home number is 920-893-5139.   I have my old cell (until it runs out of minutes) 920-912-5345 and my new iPhone which is 580-215-8484.

It would be nice if somebody would volunteer to mix the dough for the crust which has to be done the day ahead and refrigerated.

So I will be the next couple months information in a newsy email later this week.
