November 16, 2014
Hi All Celtic Women
The year is rapidly winding down. We
have had some good times this year and will aim for many more 2015.
This past Saturday, November 15, a
group of seven Celtic women, met at my home to discuss the book 1916
by Morgan Llewellyn. LuAnn Cleary Benninghaus, Debbie O'Grady, Kathy
Paul, Kathy Flath, Barbara Fishbaugher, Rosemary Mugan and myself.
We had a lively discussion on the
book and the series that Morgan has written in which she follows the
characters from the time of the rising – 1916 a Novel of the Irish
Rebellions through key years. The most recent is1999 The Irish
Century. We then started sharing the names and genre of other
Celtic authors that we have read and wanted to share. So –
Until the next book discussion, READ. We would like everybody to
bring their favorite, or at least one of their favorites, to share
and to tell us about the author. Fiction or non fiction – all is
fair game. Doesn't that sound like fun! We will have the date
after the first of the year.
December 6th, weather
permitting, we will be co-hosting the 9th Annual Celtic
Christmas Tea. Here is the notice as it appeared in the SCHRC
newsletter.

We
discussed January at the book discussion. I mentioned that I am
out of pasties and would be glad to host a Pasty making day sometime
in mid to late January. We could also discuss St. Brigid Day and
ways to honor her. Let me know if you would be interested in that.
We could have it here again, as I have the two ovens.
