What's Happenin' in the Scheboygan Branch of CWI
Things HAVE been happening.
In May, on May 19, the rescheduled Pasty Cooking found Joan Kramer, Kathy Schemrich and myself preparing and baking pasties. You probably remember that my Mom had fallen and we had the cancel the originally scheduled Sunday. We had to do it on th3 19th to save the meat that was thawed. We'll try again soon.
June found the second annual 24 hour reading of Ulysses, by Joyce, sponsored by thee Sheboygan County branch of CWI). Again, thanks to Ebco Art Works we were able to use their building on Erie and 12th in Sheboygan. We started at midnight of the 15th and closed down at midnight of the 16th. Not quite finished, but a valiant effort by all. Twenty one people came to read and or listen, including Chance, Ray Hagerman's dog, who sat with us all the time he was there, listening intently. A nice event for the literary community and the community at large.
We have nothing actually scheduled for July. I have decided, however, to go to an Irish session at 52 Stafford on July 29th. Let me know if anybody else is interested. I plan on going at 6:30PM for dinner, then staying for the CRAIC. Sound like fun? Let me know.
This notice has been a while coming, but my life has been very busy. Good news, though. My Mother is much improved. She is frail and weak of course but not in the extreme pain. I thank you all for your prayers.

-- Michael Kelly " In a land where there are no musicians; in a land where there are no storytellers; teachers and poets; in a land where there are no men and women of vision and leadership; in a land where there are no legends, saints, and champions; in a land where there are no dreamers, the people will most certainly perish."
