TODAY IS A FEAST DAY. it is the feast day of St. James, apostle, patron saint of Galicia, Spain, one of the 7 Celtic nations. Celebrate.
St. James Way, or El Camino de St. Santiago, is a pilgrimage celebrated to this day having started in the middle ages. There are many starting places but the goal is always the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. Today, pilgrims walk the Way of St. James from cities all over Europe to reach the Cathedral Santiago de Compostela on or just before June 25th, the feast day of this beloved patron saint which is a public holiday.
