A totally quiet day.    Caught up on Christmas and Celtic.

It was quite warm with no wind.    Nicky got out for a walk and had no desire to come back in.

Supposed to be nice tomorrow also.

Sleep tight

December 21, 1016 Celtic Club Lawton

On Thursday, December 15, Robbi and Curtis Dyer and myself drove to Duncan to the home of Charles and Loretta Donaghe. Loretta had arranged for a SUPER field trip.

We had coffee and cookies before heading to the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center in Duncan.

This is their mission statement:

"To celebrate and perpetuate the history, art and culture of the Chisholm Trail, the American Cowboy and the American West."

We had a private tour and then were free to roam of all the exhibits. We found out that John Chisholm himself was half Scot and half Indian. The history of the Chisholm Trail is truly wonderful and very important to the Celtic peoples that came to settle.
The Center also has an art gallery of indigent artists and more that is breathtaking. Sorry more couldn't come, but I recommend that you make a trip out to the center if you get a chance and what a super place to take children or visitors to Oklahoma!!!

Our next gathering will be back at the Center for Creative Living,on Thursday January 19 at 2PM. Patty Dawes is going to talk to us about the Irish in Oklahoma. I am so looking forward to this. Bring a friend!:)
