The Sheboygan Branch has been a very busy branch since we last updated our events.
A number of our members were on the Imbolc Brigid tour. This, the first tour sponsored by Celtic Women International was an unmitigated success and I hope it will not be the last tour we sponsor. It all takes time and commitment. Hopefully a team will come forward to plan another such tour.
Our Sheboygan member Joan Brigham, was able to reconnect with family while we were there. How wonderful that we had a tour that could be flexible for the individual. We are so concerned with each of our sisters.
We were featured in an edition of the Sheboygan Sun in their “I Took the Sun on Summer Vacation” section the week of May 12.
February 17th we relived our trip to Ireland in a video tour prepared by Debbie O'Grady and a meditation prepared and presented by Joan Kramer for those members unable to attend. At that meeting we shared both the water from the Brigid Holy Wells and the eternal flame.
March 17th, of course, we marched in the annual Irishman's Walk in Plymouth Wisconsin. Banner and all we were very impressive and again made the paper.
April 16th was a special program for we Sheboygan County Irish members. Debbie O'Grady asked a friend Bridget Long to bring her daughters, Meghan and Kelsey and their cousin, Libby Tournour, who school at Cashel Dennehy, to dance for us and to explain the process of the schooling, step learning, traditions and the costuming itself. Wow. We were SO delighted. We are hoping that Bridget will find time to join out group as she is a Celtic sister.

Or plans for the rest of the year are as follows:
June 15: Bloomsday EVE. at 52 Stafford – more info to follow
July 16 or 17th: a High Tea planned by Mary, Debbie and Kate. Prepare to be elegant.
August 18 – 21 Milwaukee Irishfest. We will be marching in the Parade at Irishfest at 2PM on Sunday the 20th.
September 2-4 Memorial Day weekend – The Highland Games. CWI International will have a booth there – free – but we have to keep it manned during the hours of the games. HELP!! 910-893-5139
October 29 – Samhain – the third annual Samhain celebration hosted and enjoyed by the Sheboygan Branch of CWI at Rhine Plymouth in Plymouth. Be prepared to bring your significant other, a dish to pass (preferably a harvest dish as this is very important at Samhain, the beginning of the dark season) and your ancestors. Bring a place mat to set for you ancestors with a plate and silverware. We want them to be a part of this special celebration.
November 19 will be a second Irish Literary Exchange at Kate Herman's lovely home. We will update on the book club.
Lastly. December brings our fifth annual Christmas Tea sponsored with the Sheboygan County Historical Research Center at the Plymouth History Museum. A beautiful joining.
