May 1, 2015 was Beltane (The beginning
of Irish Summer)
Sheboygan County CWI Branch Update
We have had a busy first 4 months of
the year with our Book Discussion group, our participation in the
Annual St. Patrick's Day Irishman's Walk in Plymouth, dinner and a
night of music at 52 Stafford and finally the International Annual
Meeting and Gathering in Madison.
I am grateful for all the help and
interest in the events that we shared. Alway, of course, we hope
that more of you will come. Is there anything that YOU would like
to
be a meeting – a speaker, an event?
We have exciting plans for May and
June.
Sunday, May 17 at about 1PM, join us
for cooking “school? “ at my house. (I have two ovens and a
multi-user friendly counter.) We have done pasties and we have
done
scones. Either is fine with me – or if there is some other Celtic
food that you would like to experiment with. (Perhaps Brown Bread
or Soda Bread.) This meeting is always such fun. We will taste and
toast with tea, coffee and perhaps EVEN Irish Coffee. I do make a
mean Irish Coffee. Lets get a vote on the food we will prepare.
Either respond to this email or call me at 920-893-5139 or
580-215-8484.
June 16th, a Tuesday, will
find us again celebrating Bloomsday by reading James Joyce's
Ulysses
from the beginning, starting at midnight of June 15th
and
ending at midnight of the 16th. I already have a reader
volunteer -thank you Heather, Debbie O' Grady's daughter. We will
again be using the Sheboygan Visual Artists building at the EBCO
Center at 1201 Erie Ave in Sheboygan. Thank you to Tim Ebenreiter.
We provide, tea, Guinness, scones and Brown Bread with Gorgonzola
Cheese. A part of the ambiance. I will be designing a flyer this
weekend and could use help getting it out there.
So. ARE YOU READY FOR THE RIDE.

Michael Kelly " In a land where
there are no musicians; in a land where there are no storytellers;
teachers and poets; in a land where there are no men and women of
vision and leadership; in a land where there are no legends,
saints,
and champions; in a land where there are no dreamers, the people
will
most certainly perish.
