March Update

March 21, 2010

What a wonderful St. Patrick's Day it was. The weather was perfect as 11 Celtic Women of the Sheboygan County Branch, met at the Exchange Bank to car pool up to the starting site for the annual Plymouth Irishman's Walk. There was Mary Kunert, Barbara Fishbaugher, Kathy Paul, Nancy Roehre, Kate Herman, Joan Brigham, Rosemary Mugan, Dorothy Rose, Pat Becher, Kathy Schimrich, and Mary Kaufman.

We marched from the parade site to 52 Stafford along with a big crowd of other Irish people. Joan Brigham and I carried the CWI banner and made the front page of the Sheboygan Press. Yippee!!! Good publicity. We also handed out newly printed cards telling about our group.

Luanne Cleary Benninghaus met us at the Stafford. We mingled and visited for about an hour then several of us finished off our afternoon by walking up to the Mill Street Grill for lunch and more discussions. On our way back to our cars, we stopped at Dear Old Books to peruse her display of Irish books and answer her Irish Quiz. We scored 100%.

The next meeting will be April 23 through 25, the annual Spring Gathering for the Celtic Women International Group. We are meeting for the second year at Lake Geneva. The information for hotel is in the newsletter. If you do not have one check www.celticwomen.org and you will find it, or call me, Mary at 920-893-5139. The agenda is firming up and I will get it out to you as soon as I have it.

Have a great week and enjoy the return of all the birds and the lovely green shoots that are springing up out of the ground.

Slainte

Mary Kunert
