October 4, 2015

An announcement, a request and information.   All in one little newsletter. The Announcement (and
Invitation.)
On Sunday, October 25, the Sheboygan Branch of Celtic Women International will celebrate our annual
Samhain dinner starting at 4PM at the First Congregational UCC, 1405 S. Milwaukee (Hwy67) Plymouth.
It is a pot luck Harvest Dinner as always.  Bring your own place settings and utensils and a dish
to pass.  Bring a place setting for your ancestors also.   We can share tales of our year as we
move into the dark season of the year. Guests are welcome.  Please bring your significant other or
any friends who are hungry.

FYI
Samhain is a Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter or
the "darker half" of the year.

For many Pagan traditions, Samhain is a time to reconnect with our ancestors, and honor those who
have died.

This is the time when the veil between our world and the spirit realm is thin, so it's the perfect
time of year to make contact with the dead.

The Request

Please come.  Most of you know that I have my home on the market and will be moving closer to my
son in Oklahoma when it sells.  I have been putting out requests for some of you to come forward to
take over the communication and some of the events that we do each year.   There has been some talk
of combining our efforts with the Milwaukee branch.   Come, or stay connected so that we can
hopefully keep our efforts alive. And perhaps we can talk at the dinner.

Many of you have heard that 100 years ago there was an Irish Club in the county.   My Grandmother,
Matie Bowser, was a member of that club.   It faded out.   I would hate to see that happen to us.

I am adding the events that we generally do during the year.  Generally, Joan Kramer has planned
the book discussion meeting. Luann Cleary-Benninghaus did the Christmas Tea last year and I think
she will do it again.   (Will you Luann, Please Please).   AND Kathy Paul said that she would
handle the money.

Nothing is hard – it is a matter of communication.  I can help set that up
