Only two weeks to Samhain
Wow. Sunday, October 30, we will be celebrating Samhain together. I hope that you can all come as this is a special celebration in the Celtic year. Samhain is the entry into the Dark season. The end of the harvest and the time to begin to rest before the new season of life begins in Spring.
Halloween is much based on the traditions of the Celtic Samhain. We celebrate some of them at our feast. We honor our ancestors by inviting them to the meal and we use the foods fresh from the harvest for our meal.
Please come. Bring a dish to pass. I am bringing colcannon. Bring your own dishes and silverware. Bring a placemat for YOUR ancestors and an extra place setting for them. We want them to feel welcome.
We will be enjoying our gathering at UCC, 1405 Hwy 67, Plymouth WI.
Call me at 920-893-5139 if you have questions. We really like it if your significant other or maybe just a really good friend can join us at this celebration.
A number of Sheboygan Celtic Women are going to Chicago November 12 and 13 for IBAM (Irish Book, Art, Music). This will be the third year of this event at the Chicago Irish Center. Joan Kramer and I are giving presentations at the event. We will be so excited to share all we learn there. The email address for IBAM is http://ibamchicago.com/
November 19, at 2PM, we will have our semi annual book club meeting at Kate Herman's home at 501 Collins Street, Plymouth 2t 2PM. We are reading Morgan Llywelyn's 1916. If you have not read it come anyway to get your feet wet and help choose the next book.
December 3rd is our annual Christmas Tea at the Plymouth History Museum. Think of lovely sweets to bring as our part of hosting the event with the Sheboygan County Historical Research center. Theiss and O'Connor will be there again. We should arrive at about 1:30PM to set up. The tea runs from 2 to 4PM.
God love you and bring you to the gathering.
Mary
